Who We Are
Baby Ubuntu is a non-profit shared learning and research hub providing participatory programmes of care and support for children with developmental disabilities and their caregivers.
Rooted in the African philosophy of ‘Ubuntu’ which champions community and shared humanity, we partner with local organisations and communities and globally to create inclusive families and communities for children with developmental disabilities and their caregivers.
At the heart of our team is a shared belief in understanding the lived experience of caregivers to influence programme design and delivery.

Our Core Values
Grounded in evidence
We base everything we do on high-quality research and proven practices to ensure our programmes are effective and meaningful for families.
Shaped by families
Families’ experiences and insights guide the design and delivery of all our work, ensuring it meets real needs.
Led by communities
We partner with local communities, within existing care systems, acknowledging that meaningful and sustainable change grows from within the community itself.
Learning together
Collaboration and shared learning are at the heart of our participatory approach, fostering growth, understanding, and mutual support.
Parents as experts
We recognise parents as experts in their child’s life and work in partnership with them, honouring their lived experience, knowledge, and expertise in everything we do.
