This webinar celebrated Baby Ubuntu’s growth and impact during 2025, showcasing successes and highlighting the growing evidence base for the programme.
The session featured three presentations. The first provided a comprehensive review of the evidence base and learning using the RE-AIM framework (Reach, Effectiveness, Adoption, Implementation and Maintenance), a robust approach for evaluating programme impact and sustainability. The second offered an update from the PDC/Baby Ubuntu trial, a cluster randomised controlled trial of 1,500 families in Rwanda evaluating the programme integrated with government health services and its impact on child and caregiver outcomes. The third shared authentic caregiver perspectives from Uganda, drawing on in-depth interviews to provide qualitative insights into lived experiences and programme impact. This was followed by an interactive discussion and Q&A with attendees.
Attendees gained insight into evaluating the evidence base for Baby Ubuntu using the RE-AIM framework, learnings from the Rwanda cluster randomised controlled trial, and the lived experiences of caregivers of young children with developmental disabilities in Uganda. Participants also had the opportunity to share experiences and learning with a global expert panel.
